Mary Ajayi
M.A. Counselling Psychology, BA. (Honours) Psych. Registered Psychotherapist (C.C.C.) | EMDR-Trained Therapist
Mary is a compassionate and client centered therapist who believes that our experiences shape the way we move through life, our relationships, sense of self, and overall wellbeing. She understands that grief, trauma, stress, burnout, loneliness, and difficult life experiences can leave people feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves and others.
She believes therapy should feel like a safe space where clients can finally exhale, a place where they feel heard, supported, and understood without judgment. Her approach is warm, collaborative, trauma informed, and tailored to each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals.
Mary holds an Honours degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. She is a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
She works with individuals, children, youth, couples, and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, body image concerns, addiction, behavioural and relationship challenges, emotional distress, workplace stress, and major life transitions.
Her clinical experience includes work in hospitals, schools, community programs, crisis stabilization, addiction services, private practice, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) settings, and within Indigenous communities and reserve settings.
Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence based modalities including EMDR, CBT, DBT, EFT, mindfulness, and trauma informed care to support healing, growth, resilience, and connection.
Mary is committed to creating a compassionate and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and others.
